Objectives of the Specialization
- Spiritual and Personal Development: To strengthen the spiritual and personal maturity of students, helping them to grow in their faith and pastoral calling.
- Preaching and Teaching Skills: Train students to effectively preach and teach God’s Word, taking into account the diverse needs of their congregation.
- Leadership and Administration: Prepare students for leadership roles, including managing church affairs, leading ministry teams, and resolving conflicts.
- Pastoral Accompaniment: To train students to offer appropriate pastoral accompaniment, including spiritual counseling, support in times of crisis, and guidance to members of the Christian community.
- Mission and Evangelism: To encourage students to develop a missionary vision, preparing them to promote evangelism and to actively participate in the mission of the church in the world.
Program Content The specialization includes specific courses that cover essential aspects of pastoral ministry, such as:
- Pastoral Theology: Study of the theological principles that underpin pastoral ministry, with a reflection on contemporary challenges.
- Advanced Homiletics: Perfecting preaching skills, with a focus on preparing and delivering effective sermons.
- Christian Leadership: Exploration of leadership styles, church management, and team dynamics in a Christian context.
- Pastoral Ethics: Analysis of ethical issues specific to pastoral ministry, including integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Spiritual Accompaniment and Counseling: Techniques and approaches to spiritually accompany and advise individuals in various pastoral contexts.
- Ministry Practice: A supervised practicum or ministry experience, allowing students to apply their knowledge in a real-world environment.
Requirements To validate this specialization, students must score 60% or higher in the specialization-specific courses, while meeting the IEBT Institute’s general admission requirements. This program has a total of 18 credits.
Graduates of this specialization are prepared for a variety of pastoral roles, such as senior pastor, associate pastor, ministry leader, or any other leadership position in a Christian community.
